1) City and County of Honolulu: Data was provided in shapefile format by the Honolulu Police Department. Street address verification was not performed. 2) County of Maui: Data was provided by the Maui County Police Department in the form of physical street addresses. The addresses were plotted using Maui county road data, 2003 Maui County Phone Book maps, aerial photography, and USGS 1:24,000 DRG's. 3) County of Hawaii: Data was provided in shapefile format by the Hawaii County Data Systems Department. Street address verification was not performed. 4) County of Kauai: Data was provided by the County Police Departments in the form of physical street addresses. The addresses were plotted using Census 2000 TIGER road data, aerial photography, and USGS 1:24,000 DRG's.

Created by the Pacific Disaster Center. Data for the Hawaii Statewide Police Stations shapefile came from various sources depending on the County: 1) City & County of Honolulu: Data was provided in ESRI shapefile format by the County Police Department. Street address verification was not performed. Original projection of the data was Old Hawaiian Datum\State Plane Zone 3. 2) County of Maui: Data was provided by the County Police Department. The addresses were plotted using Maui county road data, 2003 Maui County Phone Book maps, aerial photography, and USGS 1:24,000 DRG's. 3) County of Hawaii: Data was provided in ESRI shapefile format by the County of Hawaii Data Systems Department. Street address verification was not performed. 4) County of Kauai: Data was provided by the County Police Department in the form of physical street addresses. The addresses were plotted using Census 2000 TIGER road data, aerial photography, and USGS 1:24,000 DRG's. The individual County attribute tables were converted to one common table. The individual (island based) shapefiles were merged into a single Hawaii Statewide shapefile and projected to NAD 83, UTM Zone 4 North using a Molodensky transformation where neccessary with the following value: Hi_Nei 61(x) -285(y) -181(z). 5) April 2014: updated Hawaii County police station locations.
