To continue to meet the changing
needs of the global disaster management community, PDC has recently implemented
changes to our data sharing and access policies. As part of these changes, the Global
Hazards Information Network (GHIN) portal has been taken offline. Most
of the data resources will remain available in PDC’s DisasterAWARE®
Early Warning and Decision Support system. Access to DisasterAWARE is free for
the disaster management community including government agencies and
humanitarian assistance organizations. You can register for an account here.
We also provide access for qualifying
individuals and organizations to PDC’s geospatial services. Please complete
the following steps to request access:
2.Complete all necessary fields (name, organization,
email, and a brief description on how the data will be used).
3.Under the ‘How can we help?’ dropdown, please
select ‘Data Access Request’.
4.Once submitted, an email will be sent to you
with an attached Data Usage Agreement with next steps.
Additionally, PDC
has joined the Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) and will be encouraging our GHIN
partners to do the same. Please look for PDC data resources in HDX in the near
future.
We look forward to
working with data providers and the disaster management community globally,
continuing our mission to build a safer more disaster resilient world.
